Black Sesame & Salt (Body Polisher)
Black sesame and salt body polisher is an aromatic mixture of sea salt, black sesame and therapeutic oils of pepper, clove, and ginger exfoliates the skin and has a rejuvenating effect.
Ingredients: Sodium chloride, Sesame Seed, Sesame oil, Black pepper oil, Clove oil, Ginger oil.
Directions For Use: Mix with massage oil or yogurt as per preference to make a paste. Rub in circular motions on back, arms, neck, and legs. The oils and salt can be harsh on delicate skin. Avoid contact with cut or wounds.
I’m going to share my experience about using Black Sesame and Salt (body polisher) which is again by Fabindia. This brand has always been my favorite. This body scrub is really effective and delivers what it promises. It comes in a tub-like packaging which is very convenient to use but there is a drawback for such a packaging as you need to use your fingers to get the product out of it which can easily contaminate the contents. They should give a wooden spoon along with it, the way Juicy Chemistry does (quite thoughtful). I mostly use it with curd or olive oil which has proven to be a great combination. This body polisher feels a bit harsh on the skin (if you have very sensitive skin then grind it before using) but the end result is super smooth and brightened skin. It leaves your skin feeling soft and supple. It helps reduce tan and minor pigmentation. It slowly and gradually reduces the hair growth too. It is really beneficial to use this body polisher a day before your waxing appointment as it scrubs off the layers of dead skin very efficiently and thus helps in giving better waxing results in terms of less pain and proper uprooting of hair. One should not rub it rigorously onto the skin as it may lead to rashes or even itching. You can use it once in 15 days as too much exfoliating can damage the skin especially the sensitive one. Not to forget its aroma… it gives you a spa-like-feeling which flows into your nerves and calms them down (but can be strong for some).
Can You Use It On Face??
The answer to this question is a big No!! The oils and salts can be harsh on the delicate facial skin. I would highly recommend this purely organic product not only because of its benefits but also because it is pocket-friendly.

People with oily skin always prefer such face creams/moisturizers which keep the skin fully hydrated and nourished without making it look oily or greasy, especially in summers. I have tried a lot of such creams /moisturizers which promised to moisturize the skin without making it feel heavy on the face but all in vain. It had always been a matter of worry for me as I have really bad oily skin. Then one day while I was at Fabindia’s store here in Panchkula, I came across this hydrating cream and without much thought I purchased it and I’m so glad that I did as this product has worked pretty decently for me. The product looks like a light pink colored serum and comes in plastic tub-like packaging.
I have been using this water-based cream for quite a while now and I can confidently say that it is worth a try. A small amount of the product is enough for the whole face. It spreads over the face beautifully and gets absorbed in no time. The formula is very light, which is like a blessing for oily skin. I really love the fruity smell of this formula which eventually it fades away after its application. My skin feels moisturized, soft and smooth but not oily at all. It prepares a smooth base for the application of other makeup products on the face. Overall I really like the product and would definitely repurchase it.
Soap-Free Face Cleansing Gel (Haldi Chandan)
About the Product:
A mildly fragrant, gentle soap-free face cleanser. It helps to soften and clarify oily skin by washing away dirt and impurities while retaining the natural moisture of the skin.
Purified Water, Sodium Cocoyl Glycinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerine, Cellulose Gum, Manjishtha Extract, Turmeric Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Allantoin, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, White Sandalwood Extract.
Directions For Use:
Gently work up the lather with a circular motion on wet face. Wash off and pat dry. Avoid contact with eyes.
The texture of the product is gel-like but a bit runny. It doesn’t lather much due to the absence of sulphates and leaves no residue behind. The most important thing about the product is that it is paraben free. After every wash, my skin feels baby soft and smooth. The best thing about this face cleanser is its cooling effect which is just perfect for summers. It does take out all the dirt and oil from the face. I tried to wash off my makeup with this cleanser and voila, it did a fairly good job. I love the fragrance of Chandan in it, it is awesome. I don’t have acne issues so really can’t comment if it will help to reduce them or not. It doesn’t feel too dry or itchy but I do apply a moisturizer after every wash as a part of my everyday skincare regime. Highly recommended for people with oily skin.

Next, I’m going to review Neem Tulsi Skin Toner again by Fabindia which I bought three months back. It took me a really long time as to decide whether I liked this product or not and does it really work?! This was my very first purchase of a Skin Toner as I’m not a great fan of toners. I was compelled to buy one because people talk a lot about the benefits of using a skin toner in their skincare regime. Picking Fabindia’s Skin Toner was my obvious choice because my skin is very friendly with their product range.
Initially, I didn’t notice anything good happening to my skin. The effect was almost neutral. So I started using it occasionally. But slowly and gradually, I could see how this magic potion works. I apply this skin toner after cleansing my face, leave it for a minute, followed by a moisturizer, primer and at the end the compact powder and I’m good to go!!! My skin stays oil-free and shine-free throughout the day, what more an oily skin can ask for. It doesn’t irritate my skin at all. It does have a strong neem tulsi fragrance which eventually fades away. The skin feels fresh and hydrated and not oily. I keep on stressing on oily skin again and again as the problems related to such skin type is quite irritating. The only sad thing about this skin toner is that I haven’t seen any reduction in the pore size. I would like to give it a thumbs up!
Fabindia Herbal Shampoo
According To FabIndia:
This mild shampoo for daily use contains herbal ingredients such as Fenugreek, Heena and Brahmi extract. Gentle and conditioning, this shampoo cleanses the scalp and hair thoroughly, leaving it soft, silky and with a natural sheen.
It took a really long time, for me, to come to a conclusion as to whether I liked this shampoo or not. I have been using Schwarzkopf Color Freeze shampoo for more than three years now, which is not only meant for color treated hair but as it is sulfate free, it is ideal for daily use too. I’m pretty happy with the Color Freeze shampoo but as it is a bit on the expensive side, I wanted to try something which is not only reasonable in cost but is also fit for daily use. Fabindia Herbal Shampoo is parabens and sulfates free, and this thing attracted me the most. The texture of the shampoo is very thick, so you need to shake the bottle many times to get the product out, which gets annoying at times. I always use this shampoo in diluted form. My hair felt too dry and rough after every wash. It did not give any shine to my hair. But I have seen a considerable reduction in the amount of hair fall, which is definitely a big positive point of this herbal shampoo. I can definitely keep Fabindia Herbal Shampoo as a back-up because it is suitable for daily use and doesn’t cause much hair fall. Using this shampoo after properly oiling my hair, followed by application of hair serum has given me better results. Plus is it is easy on the pocket.
Fabindia has not only a beautiful range of ethnic clothing but is also a master in creating high-quality beauty products. Recently they have revamped the packaging of their beauty product range, which I feel, is not so attractive. They could have done a better job. But the quality of their products is very good, that is the most important thing!!
Much love to Fabindia!!! 🙂
